The Rude Mechanicals are soliciting projects for their next season. Their three performance slots are January, May, and September. All submissions received by 31 January will be considered. Any submissions received after 31 January but before the Play Selection Committee meets may be considered.

  • The Rude Mechanicals require that every director have previously done an apprenticeship as an assistant director with the Rude Mechanicals. This is not, however, a requirement to submit a proposal as your apprenticeship can be scheduled during the season.

  • The Rude Mechanicals generally perform classic theater. Our plays have generally been Shakespeare, but other classic authors and classics from other eras (including the modern era) are welcome. Oklahoma!, however, is right out.
